Gang Weed Conservatism VI: Sidney Gottlieb and the Dream Police
Because they're waiting for me, they're looking for me. Every single night. They're driving me insane, those men inside my brain.
Note: As the title implies, this article is the sixth and final part of a series on psychedelics and the American Right. If you want to start from the first part, click here. It will defintely be difficult to fully appreciate this article without reading the fifth part at least, which can be read here.
Imagine a world where the atom bombing of Hiroshima was somehow a state secret, but the Manhattan Project was not. Everybody knows that a bunch of scientists spent the war in New Mexico working on an experimental superweapon. Everybody knows that the superweapon involved using atomic power to generate massive explosions. Everybody knows that James Meredith got a Legion of Merit and Kenneth Nichols got a Distinguished Service Medal for their work on the Manhattan Project.
But also, for some reason, everybody is convinced that the Manhattan project “didn’t work.” Whenever the Manhattan project comes up, people repeat the same line, almost verbatim. “They tried to make some kind of atomic superweapon, but ended up inventing the microwave oven!”
If you suggest to the average person that the massive explosion reported in Hiroshima may have had some connection to the Manhattan Project, they shrug and chuckle nervously. If you suggest that the massive explosion in Nagasaki may also relate to the Manhattan Project, they roll their eyes.
If you ask people why such an apparent waste of time and money on sci-fi nonsense resulted in almost everybody involved getting medals and promotions (unless their ideology led to them providing information on said sci-fi nonsense to the USSR), they simply return blank stares. If you point out that other countries have also openly pursued atomic weapons programs since 1945, they ask what that has to do with microwaves.
Let’s talk about CIA Project MK-Ultra. They tried to make some kind of mind control drug, but ended up inventing LSD.
Gottlieb’s Ambitions
What you need to understand about MK-Ultra is that it wasn’t solely about mind control. It was about torture and interrogation. You also need to understand that it didn’t “invent” LSD.
Let’s do last things first. LSD was invented by a Swiss (German) scientist named Albert Hofmann in 1943. Between the end of WWII and the start of Project MK-Ultra in 1953, the US Army Chemical Corps had already recognized LSD, along with Mescaline and a host of sixty other mind-altering substances as potentially weaponizable against enemy populations.
In 1949, a report was published entitled “Psychochemical Warfare: A New Concept of War.” L. Wilson Greene, Technical Director of the Chemical and Radiological Laboratories at Edgewood Arsenal wrote that:
Their will to resist would be weakened greatly, if not entirely destroyed, by the mass hysteria and panic which would ensue.
The symptoms which are considered to be of value in strategic and tactical operations include the following: fits or seizures, dizziness, fear, panic, hysteria, hallucinations, migraine, delirium, extreme depression, notions of hopelessness, lack of initiative to do even simple thing, suicidal mania.
Greene actually believed that psychoactive drugs could represent a more humane form of warfare!
Throughout recorded history, wars have been characterized by death, human misery, and the destruction of property, each major conflict being more catastrophic than the one preceding it. I am convinced that it is possible, by means of the techniques of psychochemical warfare, to conquer an enemy without wholesale killing of his people and the mass destruction of his property.
It sounds like Dr. Greene here didn’t get it, man! If he was a member of the modern American “dissident” right, he’d know that these drugs actually attune you to real spiritual experiences, help soldiers combat addiction and forgive themselves for their crimes, open your mind to new forms of political action, enhance your intelligence, and facilitate intercultural bonding sessions between Jews and Arabs!
Consuming psychoactive drugs is a political act. It’s political surrender. You are voluntarily administering yourself with a chemical weapon. And maybe it’s fun, but the very second you say that it is any more than that, you are either falling for a psyop, or else perpetrating one.
That same year, in cooperation with the Special Operations Division of the Army, the CIA began Project MK-Naomi. The MK- prefix denotes that the project falls under the purview of the Agency’s “technical services” staff. MK-Naomi was a chemical warfare project, but it wasn’t just about chemical warfare on people. And the only “chemical effect” they were really interested in was death or incapacitation. Shellfish toxin suicide pills. Delayed-action botulinium. They killed hundreds of farm animals on Caribbean islands with experimental bacteria. Near the end of that year, six members of the SOD disguised themselves as air quality monitors and sprayed “mock bacteria” into the air ducts at the Pentagon. They later tracked the dispersal and determined that if the bacteria was real, they would have killed half the people in the building. In 1950, they went bigger, carrying out “Operation Sea Spray” in which they dispersed “harmless but traceable” germs over San Francisco. They were half right, it was traceable. They had successfully transmitted Serratia Marcesens to everybody in the city, and traces were found in Oakland, Berkeley, and Sausalito. They also found that a dozen people died of urinary tract infections with distinctively red bacteria in their urine, which in the 1950s was considered noteworthy in San Francisco.
At the same time, the CIA got tired of creative poisoning techniques and wondered what else you could do with chemistry.
The Bluebird Program was aimed at “investigating the possibility of control of an individual by application of Special Interrogation Techniques.” Within six months, the Program was expanded to “conduct experiments and develop techniques to determine the possibilities and practicability of the positive use of [Special Interrogation] on willing and unwilling subjects, for operational purposes. Positive use of SI would be for the purpose of operational control of individuals to perform specific tasks under positive hypnotic suggestion. […] This field, if it is found that the application of SI is possible and practicable, offers unlimited possibilities to operational officers.”
When Allen Dulles joined the CIA in 1951 as Deputy Director for Plans, he took an immediate interest in Bluebird, writing to two senior agents:
In our conversation of 9 February 1951, I outlined to you the possibilities of augmenting the usual interrogation methods by the use of drugs, hypnosis, shock, etc., and emphasized the defensive aspects as well as the offensive opportunities in this field of applied medical science. The enclosed folder, “Interrogation Techniques” was prepared by my Medical Division to provide you with a suitable background.
The earliest test subjects for Operation Bluebird were former employees of the Third Reich. At a base for the Army Counterintelligence Corps in Oberursel, Germany called Camp King, “recalcitrant ex-Nazis” were subject to “special interrogation.” Years after WWII ended, German “Prisoners of War” were being immersed in freezing water or, in true Inglourious Basterds fashion, forced to run through mobs of American soldiers who beat them with clubs and baseball bats, which was called the “Kraut Gauntlet”. Even before Bluebird, victims of this American camp were subject to treatment more commonly associated with Dr. Mengele. Victims were injected with Metrazol, an antidepressant which wasn’t as good at curing depression or stimulating compliance with interrogators as it was at causing grand mal seizures and violent muscle spasms. Other prisoners were injected with drug cocktails containing mescaline, heroin, and amphetamines. For the CIA, it was a start. They created a secret facility for the secret facility. Stephen Kinzer describes it thus:
A few miles from Camp King, in the village of Kronberg, a gabled villa stands at the end of what was once a country lane. Over the heavy wooden doors is chiseled the day it was built: 1906. For a generation it was known as Villa Schuster, after the Jewish family that built and owned it. The family was forced to sell during the Nazi era. In early 1951, Americans from the CIA and the Special Operations Division who were looking for a “black site” drove up the lane and found it.
From the outside, Villa Schuster—also known as Haus Waldhof, after the name of the lane that leads to it—looks almost regal, a calm survivor of history’s tempests. It’s spacious, with an elegant entryway and sturdy beams. The grand living room has a high ceiling, leaded windows, and an imposing fireplace. On the two upper floors are a dozen bedrooms. The basement is a complex of bricked in storerooms, easily configured as sealed cells.
With the coming of the Cold War in the late 1940s, a different sort of prisoner began arriving at Camp King. Many were from Eastern Europe, including East Germany. Some were captured Soviet agents. Others claimed to be refugees but had been judged unreliable. The guilty were mixed with the simply unfortunate. All were what the CIA called “expendable,” meaning that if they disappeared, no one would inquire too closely. The especially expendable, along with those believed to be guarding especially valuable secrets, were sent to Villa Schuster. In its basement, doctors and scientists conducted the most extreme experiments on human beings that had ever been carried out by officers of the United States government.
“This villa on the edge of Kronberg became the CIA’s torture house,” a German television documentary concluded decades later.
It was in this facility that teams of CIA interrogators would run their Bluebird experiments.
An underappreciated “discovery” made here was that the CIA could kidnap people in other countries, and then create secret dungeons in those countries in order to torture those in their clutches without regard for what passes for human rights law in the United States.
Naturally, the agency opened up a second network of these facilities in Japan. There, Bluebird teams conducted “intensive polygraph work” involving sedative drugs like sodium amytol, combined with amphetamine, Nikethamide (a lung stimulant what is used by athletes as a doping drug), and Picrotoxin, which causes lung paralysis as well as, you guessed it, grand mal seizures. Victims of this pharmacological twilight zone were considered prepped for the main event, which included hypnosis, electric shocks, and debilitating heat with the goal of inducing “violent cathartic reactions, alternately putting subjects to sleep, then waking them up until they were sufficiently confused to be coerced into reliving an experience from their past.”
In 1951, a memo was issued at the CIA detailing questions deemed to be “of incredible value to this agency.”
Can accurate information be obtained from willing or unwilling individuals?
Can Agency personnel (or persons of interest to this agency) be conditioned to prevent any outside power from obtaining information from them by any known means?
Can we guarantee total amnesia under any and all conditions?
Can we “alter” a person’s personality? How long will it hold?
Can we devise a system for making unwilling subjects into willing agents?
How can drugs be best concealed in a normal or commonplace item, such a candy, cigarettes, liqueur, wines, coffee, tea, beer, gum, water, common medicines, Coke, toothpaste?
Can we extract complicated formulas from scientists, engineers, etc., if unwilling? Can we extract details of gun emplacements, landing fields, factories, mines?
Can we also have them make detailed drawing, sketches, plans?
Could any of this be done under field conditions and in a very short space of time?
The memo concluded that “Bluebird is not fully satisfied with the results to date, but believes with continued work and study, remarkable results can be obtained. Bluebird’s general problem is to get up, conduct, and carry out research (practical—not theoretical) in this direction.)”
And so in July of 1951, Sidney Gottlieb was transferred from the Army Chemical Corps to the CIA, under the title “Chief of the Chemical Division of the Technical Services Staff.”1
Gottlieb went to work, reorganizing Bluebird under the name “Artichoke.”
From Kinzer:
The first directives sent to Artichoke teams suggest the project’s extreme nature. One recommends that interrogations be carried out “in a safe house or safe area,” with an adjoining room for “recording devices, transformers, etc.” and a bathroom because “occasionally the ‘Artichoke’ technique produces nausea, vomiting, or other conditions which make bathroom facilities essential.” Another says that “Artichoke techniques” may be used at any stage of interrogation, either as “a starting point for the obtaining of information [or] as a last resort when all or nearly all the attempts at obtaining information have failed or when a subject is completely recalcitrant or particularly stubborn.”
“Our principal goal,” says a third directive, “remains the same as it was in the beginning: the investigation of drug effects on ego control and volitional activities, i.e., can willfully suppressed information be elicited through drugs affecting higher nervous systems? If so, which agents are better for this purpose?” A fourth memo reported that “drugs are already on hand (and new ones are being produced) that can destroy integrity and make indiscreet the most dependable individual.”
Now is as good a time to ask yourself:
We haven’t even gotten to the start of the MK-Ultra program yet. Do you think now that MK-Ultra is some laughing matter? As I delve into the details of this program, do you expect to hear some funny quirky story about goofy government money-wasting incompetence? Do you understand that as early as 1946, the US government was already the kind of government that was torturing people in black sites? Are you still in a mindset where you’ll roll your eyes and scoff when I point to real events in real life with real consequences and identify the fingerprints of the MK-Ultra program?
These events happened. The people involved admitted as such. There is no room for interpretation. This is history and you must treat it as such. We’re not talking about Joe Biden’s body double here.
As news hit America of a Chinese Hsi Nao or “Wash Brain” programs for captured POWs in Korea, Dulles expanded Gottlieb’s mandate even further.
Specific research should be undertaken to develop new chemicals or drugs, or to improve known elements for use in Artichoke work.
An exhaustive study should be made of various gases and aerosols […] Gas guns, jets, or spray, both concealed [and] open, should be studied. In addition, the problem of permanent brain injury and amnesia following lack of oxygen or exposure to other gases should be studied.
The effects of high and low pressures on individuals should be examined.
A considerable amount of research could profitably be expended in the field of sound. This research would include the effect on human beings of various types of vibrations, monotonous sounds, concussion, ultra-high frequency, ultra-sonics, the effect of constantly repeated words, sounds, continuous suggestion, non-rhythmic sounds, whispering, etc.
Bacteria, plant cultures, fungi, poisons of various types […] are capable of producing illnesses which in turn would produce high fevers, delirium, etc.
The removal of certain basic food elements such as sugar, starch, calcium, vitamins, proteins, etc. from the food of an individual over a certain period of time will produce psychological and physical reactions in an individual. A study should be made to determine whether or not the removal of certain food elements from the diet of prisoners over a given period of time will materially condition them for Artichoke work.
Whether an individual will reveal information as a result of electroshock, or while in an electroshock coma, has not yet been demonstrated […] Whether electroshock can produce controlled amnesias does not appear to be established.
If an electronically induced sleep could be obtained, and that sleep is used as a means for gaining hypnotic control of an individual, this apparatus might be of extreme value to the Artichoke work.
The Agency under no circumstances would consider [lobotomy and brain surgery] as an operative measure. However, it is felt that the subject could be examined.
Special research should be conducted to determine the effect of long and continuous exposure of individuals to infra-red and ultra-violet light.
There are a great many psychological techniques that could be used in connection with the artichoke work [including] moving or vibrating rooms; the deliberate creation of an anxiety condition; the creation of panic, fear, or the exploitation of established phobias, etc.; the effect of heat and cold; the effect of dampness, dryness or saturated or dry air; the general problem of disorientation; [and] completely soundproof areas.
It would be a great advantage if a small, effective hypo-spray device should be designed along the lines of a fountain pen. This, of course, would necessarily have to include some effective chemical or drug that could be used in this connection. This would be a very valuable weapon.
Sometimes, the Army or CIA would request Artichoke teams. For example, a 1952 request read:
“Request permission give Artichoke to [redacted] while team in France. [Redacted] have failed to break subject though convinced he [redacted].”
Sometimes Artichoke teams would request test subjects. Another request from 1952:
Desire send Artichoke team from 18 August to 9 September to test important new technique. Desire minimum 10 subjects. Will brief senior officials types of subjects desired. Technique does not, not require disposal problems after application.
On Fort Detrick in Maryland, they completed a “One-Million-Liter Test Sphere,” which was referred to on-base as the “eight ball.” In fact, the building was a giant gas chamber in which controlled doses of toxins could be administered to human and animal test subjects. The humidity, temperature, and air pressure levels could also be controlled. An official report described its purpose as “aerobiological studies of agents highly pathogenic to man and animals.”
Now, it’s important to remember that these people were only human, after all. They weren’t just doing all of this stuff for the pure enjoyment of evil. Morse Allen, director of the Bluebird Program before its reorganization into Artichoke under Gottlieb, personally took a four-day course from a stage hypnotist in New York who claimed to be able to put women into hypnotic trances and have sex with them. When Allen returned to DC, he repeatedly “experimented” on his secretaries, successfully placing them into trances to “induce them to do things that they might not otherwise consider, like flirting with strangers or revealing office secrets.”
Man, good thing hypnosis and mind control are wacky sci-fi nonsense, otherwise that story would be disturbing!
Allen was focused on machines. He devoted research to an “electro-sleep” machine that could either lull subjects into hypnotic trances or reduce them to a “vegetable level.” Temperatures, Radiation, Ultrasonic noise. At Villa Schuster, he tested combinations of amphetamines and barbiturates on Russian captives.
“If hypnotic control can be established over any participant in clandestine operations,” Allen concluded, “the operator will apparently have an extraordinary degree of influence, a control in order of magnitude beyond anything we have considered feasible.”
And they all say this. Nobody involved in these programs thought that what they’re doing is a bunch of sci-fi nonsense. Nobody here thought they were wasting their time. Nobody here thought this was a boondoggle. Why do you?
Of course, Morse was eventually replaced as head of the program by Gottlieb, and Gottlieb put the focus of Artichoke on chemistry. Hypnosis and electroshocks were, as the saying goes, on the table, but Dulles and Gottlieb thought that Drugs were the real Winners.
Some of their early experiments appear humorously recreational. They “tested THC on themselves, consuming various doses mixed into candy, salad dressing, and mashed potatoes” concluding that it was unsuitable as a truth serum, but brought on “a state of irresponsibility”, “relax all inhibitions,” and “the sense of humor is accentuated to the point where any situation can become extremely funny.”
Naturally, they moved on to experimenting with cocaine. They tested this one on mental patients, confirming that it induced talkativeness, and “free and spontaneous speech,” but was too unreliable for “Special Interrogations.”
Heroin was next, but they determined that while heroin wasn’t useful as a truth serum, it was “useful in reverse,” in the sense that withholding heroin from addicts is useful for interrogation.
And at the end of 1951, Gottlieb became interested in LSD.
After some self-experimentation, he moved on to volunteer subjects from the CIA or the SOD. Some volunteers were dosed under controlled environments. Other volunteers “gave permission to be surprised.”
In mock interrogations:
CIA employees were given LSD and then induced to violate oaths and promises. In one, a military officer swore never to reveal a secret, and then revealed it under the influence of LSD, and afterward forgot the entire episode.
In other words, It Worked.
LSD does, in fact, make you highly suggestible. People have this idea that LSD and MK-Ultra were goofy sci-fi nonsense because they imagine that the CIA is run by Conservative WASPs who want you to vote Republican and go to church. Since we didn’t see an epidemic of Conservative personalities doing psychedelic drugs (until the past three years as I’ve described in previous articles), they assume it was mission failure. Sidney Gottlieb, coming from a secular humanist background himself, actually wanted to reduce people’s religiosity.
Guess what. If you are a liberal, then you take drugs with your liberal friends, and exchange liberal platitudes with each other while you are under the influence of drugs that lower your inhibitions and make you more suggestible, then obviously the drugs will not turn you into a Republican. That was never the point. The question is what the drug does to you if you do it under the direction of your enemies.
And unlike all of the other scientists before him, or the right wing thought leaders of today, Gottlieb didn’t trick himself into thinking that LSD was something “mysterious.” It’s a drug, it makes you high. He was going to figure out how to use that to his advantage.
L. Richard Greene, who we mentioned earlier as writing of Psychochemical Warfare as “more humane” than bombs, continued to push for the adoption of LSD as an aerosolized weapon to be used at a strategic level (that is, to be deployed over cities). According to Gottlieb:
“I was fascinated by the ideas Greene was advancing. He was convinced that it was possible to actually win a battle or larger engagement without killing anyone or destroying any property. While I found this a novel approach to war, I was somewhat skeptical about it. But I was intrigued by the potential application of psycho-chemicals to much smaller situations and conflicts. There I saw tremendous promise.”
The problem with LSD, according to the CIA, was that the delusions it induces are not fully predictable. Some people take LSD and become docile and uninhibited. But other people become convinced that they are gods and become even more emboldened to resist their interrogators. It wasn’t reliable as a truth serum, and it wasn’t reliable as an amnesiac.
But people like Gottlieb don’t give up that easily. He began personally supervising interrogations. From a study cited by Kinzer:
In 1951, a team of CIA scientists led by Dr. Gottlieb flew to Tokyo. Four Japanese suspected of working for the Russians were secretly brought to a location where the CIA doctors injected them with a variety of depressants and stimulants. […] Under relentless questioning, they confessed to working for the Russians. They were taken out into Tokyo Bay, shot and dumped overboard. The CIA team flew to Seoul in South Korea and repeated the experiment on twenty-five North Korean prisoners of war. They were asked to denounce Communism. They refused and were executed. […] In 1952 Dulles brought Dr. Gottlieb and his team to post-war Munich in southern Germany. They set up a base in a safe house. […] Throughout the winter of 1952-3 scores of “expendables” were brought to the safe house. They were given massive amounts of drugs, some of which Frank Olson had prepared back at Detrick, to see if their minds could be altered. Others were given electro-convulsive shocks. Each experiment failed. The “expendables” were killed and their bodies burned.
Gottlieb began to lobby Allen Dulles to expand his mandate yet further. Artichoke was focused on extracting information from people. Gottlieb began consolidating his control over any project in the CIA with any connection to both special interrogation and mind control. At the same time, he became the CIA’s chief poisoner. He created a delayed action poison that would have been poured over the rice bowl of Chinese premier Zhou Enlai. On another occasion, he concocted “a poison that would produce such a dreadful disease, if it didn’t kill [Patrice] Lumumba outright it would leave him do disfigured that he couldn’t possibly be a leader of men.” This will not be the first nor the last time that we see that Gottlieb has a fascination with disfiguring or humiliating people. One highly disturbing incident recounted in Poisoner in Chief sees Gottlieb deliver a traumatic dose of LSD to a civilian after getting into a heated political argument at a French cafe.
In 1953, Gottfried submitted a proposal to Dulles. This proposal was for a new program, which he would lead:
(a) to develop a capability in the covert use of biological and chemical materials. This area included the production of various physiological conditions which could support present or future clandestine operations. Aside from the offensive potential, the development of a comprehensive capability in this field of covert chemical and biological warfare gives us a thorough knowledge of the enemies theoretical potential, thus enabling us to defend ourselves against a foe who might not be as restrained in the use of these techniques as we are. For example: we intend to investigate the development of a chemical material which causes a reversible non-toxic aberrant mental state, the specific nature of which can be reasonably well predicted for each individual. This material could potentially aid in discrediting individuals, eliciting information, implanting suggestion, and other forms of mental control
(b) [redacted]
On April 13, 1953, two months into his record-holding eight-year tenure as the fifth Director of Central Intelligence,2 Allen Dulles would approve Gottlieb’s proposal for what he designated CIA Project MK-Ultra.
For his work on this project, Gottlieb would retire in 1972 at the age of only fifty four. He would be awarded a medal for distinguished service. Hundreds of millions of Americans would hear about his project and laugh whenever it came up, under the assumption that he received awards and an early retirement for twenty years of fruitless work on sci-fi nonsense that gave the world an interesting party drug.
We simply don’t have the time or space to discuss every single insane crime that Gottlieb perpetrated over the next twenty years. You have to read Poisoner in Chief. But we can talk about a couple.
First, the CIA created a variety of cutout organizations, including the Geschickter Fund for Medical Research and the Josiah P. Macy Foundation. These organizations then announced to hospitals and medical schools that they were interested in sponsoring controlled studies of LSD. “Almost overnight, a whole new market for grants in LSD research sprang into existence.”
Alas, it was in the 1950s, so there was no network of astroturfed fake-dissident podcasts around to bring these academics on in order to “discuss their research.”
In a 1955 memo, Gottlieb listed the “materials and methods” he either was researching or wished to research through these front organizations.
Substances which will promote illogical thinking and impulsiveness to the point where the recipient would be discredited in public,
Substances which increase the efficiency of mentation and perception.
Materials which will prevent or counteract the intoxicating effect of alcohol.
Materials which will promote the intoxicating effect of alcohol.
Materials which will produce the signs and symptoms of recognized diseases in a reversible way so that they may be used for malingering, etc.
Materials which will render the indication of hypnosis easier or otherwise enhance its usefulness.
Substances which will enhance the ability of individuals to withstand privation, torture, and coercion during interrogation and so-called “brainwashing.”
Materials and physical methods which will produce amnesia for events preceding and during their use.
Physical methods of producing shock and confusion over extended periods of time and capable of surreptitious use.
Substances which produce physical disablement such as paralysis of the legs, acute anemia, etc.
Substances which will produce “pure” euphoria with no subsequent let-down.
Substances which alter personality structure in such a way that the tendency of the recipient to become dependent upon another person is enhanced.
A material which will cause mental confusion of such a type that the individual under its influence will find it difficult to maintain a fabrication under questioning.
Substances which will lower the ambition and general working efficiency of men when administered in undetectable amounts.
Substances which will promote weakness or distortion of the eyesight or hearing faculties, preferably without permanent effects.
A knockout pill which can surreptitiously be administered in drinks, food, cigarettes, as an aerosol, etc., which will be safe to use, provide a maximum of amnesia, and be suitable for use by agent types on an ad hoc basis.
A material which can be surreptitiously administered by the above routes and which in very small amounts will make it impossible for a man to perform any physical activity whatsoever.
Again, from the very top item on the list, we see this obsession with delegitimizing people through disfigurement and humiliation. One can easily imagine Gottfried thinking to himself of how he would have stopped Austria’s most charming public speaker from taking over Germany. Killing him is too easy. What about making him so illogical or impulsive that nobody would listen to him? What about making him so ugly that he couldn’t lead? Number twelve is effectively a love potion. What about making him a simp? What if you took away all of his ambition? Delightfully devilish, Sidney!
And by outsourcing this research across nearly every major medical research university in the country, grant-hungry scientists began to push the envelope for him. This was the point at which a lot of familiar names pop up as test subjects. The author, Ken Kesey. The mathematician, Ted Kacynski. The austere religious scholar, Charles Manson. But this strategy still had its shortcomings. Since none of these researchers knew they were working for the CIA, everything was being done broadly within the bounds of medical ethics. But Gottlieb wanted experiments with unwitting subjects.
The first attempt at this was simply called Subproject 68. As a part of it, “approximately one hundred patients admitted to the Allan institute with moderate emotional problems [like anxiety, family trouble, or post-partum depression] became unwitting or unwilling subjects in an extreme form of behavioral experimentation. Here’s how it worked:
(1) The breaking down of ongoing patterns of the patient’s behaviors by means of particularly intensive electroshocks (de-patterning).
(2) The intensive repetition (16 hours a day for 6-7 days) of the prearranged verbal signal.
(3) During the period of intensive repetition, the patient is kept in partial sensory isolation.
(4) Repression of the “driving period” is carried out by putting the patient, after the conclusion of the period, into continuous sleep for 7-10 days.
The results?
In professional papers and lab reports, Cameron reported that he had succeeded in destroying minds but had not found ways to replace them with new ones. After completing his treatment of one patient, he wrote with evident pride that “the shock treatment turned the then-19-year-old honors student into a woman who sucked her thumb, talked like a baby, demanded to be fed from a bottle, and urinated on the floor.” Other patients disappointed him. “Although the patient was prepared by both prolonged sensory isolation (35 days) and by repeated de-patterning,” he wrote in one report, “and although she received 101 days of positive driving, no favorable results were obtained.
But come on, experimenting on anxious women at the psych ward? That’s so boring. Tlaloc doesn’t just need the blood of children, he needs their tears!
Enter MK-Ultra Subproject 42, Operation: Midnight Climax.3 A celebrity detective named George Hunter White, who had been recruited as a CIA asset in the late forties, was tasked to set up what were effectively agency brothels, where prostitutes in San Francisco, New York, and Boston, were employed to spike the drinks of their clients with drugs. Usually LSD, but sometimes Gottlieb would send out new drug cocktails to be tested on unwitting sex employers, to see how well CIA interrogation techniques synergized with the time-proven tactic of pillow talk. In some instances, soldiers and sailors stationed nearby were fed with supposedly classified information, before being lured to agency brothels to see if the information could be “extracted” from them. Naturally, White and Gottlieb had fun with the drugs and prostiutes themselves. Even though San Francisco was where Gottlieb sent the drugs “that everyone else was afraid to try,” White displayed an almost admirable commitment to trying a sample of every shipment. On the other hand, it was well known at the agency that Gottlieb was sleeping with White’s wife while White was passed out in drug induced stupors.
One more incident from Kinzer.
At the end of 1957, a deputy federal marshal named Wayne Ritchie attended a Christmas party at the federal building where White was based. After taking deveral drinks, he became disoriented. He raced to his locker, grabbed his two service revolvers, walked to a bar in the Fillmore District, pointed one of his pistols at the bartender, and demanded money. Someone knocked him unconscious from behind. Police officers were standing over him when he awoke.
In court, Ritchie pleaded guilty to armed robbery but could offer no explanation for his momentary madness. A sympathetic judge, citing his sterling record—he was a Marine Corps veteran and had been a guard at Alcatraz—let him off without prison time. He spiraled into depression and never recovered. Only twenty-two years later, when he read Gottlieb’s obituary, did he come to suspect that he had been dosed with LSD. He sued the CIA. White had died by then, but his sidekick Ira Feldman admitted in a pre-trial deposition that he had surreptitiously drugged people in and around San Francisco. “I didn’t do any follow up,” he said. “It wasn’t a very good thing to go and say ‘How do you feel today?’ You don’t give them a tip. You just back away and let them worry, like this nitwit Ritchie.” Ultimately a judge denied Ritchie’s claim for compensation, ruling that he had not conclusively proven he was drugged, but called the case “troubling” and added: “If Ritchie’s claims are indeed true, he has paid a terrible price in the name of national security.”
Back in the Bluebird days, a few interesting memos were circulated. One stipulates “Bluebird teams are to include persons qualified in medicine, psychological interrogations, the use of electroencephalograph, electric shock, and the polygraph.” Another directs researchers to investigate ways that a person “can be made to commit acts useful to us under post-hypnotic suggestion” along with ways to “condition our own people so they will not be subject to post-hypnotic suggestion.” A third memo asks: “Can a person under hypnosis be forced to commit murder?”
Sirhan Sirhan
There are a lot of reasons to believe that Sirhan Bishara Sirhan was not responsible for murdering Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy on June 6, 1968.
The first item of evidence is that not a single one of the bullets fired from Sirhan Sirhan’s gun entered Kennedy’s body. According to the autopsy report by LA Chief Coroner Thomas Noguchi, Kennedy was hit by three bullets, while a fourth simply went through his coat. All of the bullets hit Kennedy from behind at an upward angle, with two of them coming under his right armpit, and the last went behind his upper ear, obliterating his cerebellum. This is strange, considering that while Sirhan fired all eight rounds of his gun, only the first two were aimed at Kennedy, while the next six were fired into the air after one of the witnesses, a man named Karl Uecker, pulled Sirhan into a choke hold.
This is not completely without precedent. According to the official story, when Carl Austin Weiss assassinated Louisiana Governor Huey Pierce Long in 1935, he only actually fired one shot, which hit Huey in the chest, piercing his kidney. Long’s bodyguards then fired sixty rounds at Weiss, killing him instantly. Problematically, two bullets were found in Huey Long’s body, which means that at least one of those bullets came from the hail of gunfire his bodyguards laid down to shred his assailant.4
But OK. If you shoot at someone in a crowded space, and in the process of shooting back at you, their bodyguards accidentally hit someone else when they’re aiming at putting you down, that can be very strongly argued to still be your fault.
There are a few problems with this. In the case of Huey Long, you had one shot fired by the assassin, sixty shots fired by enthusiastic bodyguards, with only one or maybe two of those sixty shots hitting the wrong person.
In the case of Sirhan Sirhan, counting the bullets recovered from the pantry, and the bullets that wounded five other people around Kennedy, there were twelve bullets accounted for. Audio analysis conducted later suggested thirteen. But in any case, this was not a case of overzealous bodyguards not clearing their lines of fire.
Eight bullets from Sirhan. Five hitting innocent bystanders, three hitting the ceiling.
Four or five bullets from some other source. Three of which entered Kennedy, and one of them passed through his jacket, all of them from behind, and none of them in the bodies of any other bystanders. None of the people who were wrestling Sirhan to the ground after he fired his second shot reported getting getting accidentally shot by Kennedy’s bodyguards.
Unfortunately for the doorframe evidence, the LAPD destroyed all the wood paneling it had collected from the hotel pantry.
A further problem is that the gunpowder burns on Kennedy’s clothes and skin suggested, according to Noguchi’s testimony, that the shots that penetrated his body were fired from between two and five inches away. I’ve never been in a shootout. Hopefully I never am. But if I find myself in that situation, I hope I don’t find myself in a situation where I accidentally shoot my friend four times in the back from no more than six inches away.
That would be pretty embarrassing.
Maybe what happened was that Kennedy’s bodyguards were actually so skilled and so careful that when they heard the sound of gunshots in the room packed with innocent people, they determined that the only safe direction to discharge their firearms was directly into the body of someone who had already been shot at.
The second problem is that Sirhan Sirhan’s motive doesn’t actually make any sense. Under the official story, Sirhan Sirhan was a Palestinian angry that Kennedy has supported the sale of 50 F-4 Phantom jets to Israel. The idea of an American politician agreeing to send weapons to Israel was so shocking and appalling to him that he decided to go out and shoot him. There are three main items of evidence for this interpretation.
He’s a Palestinian. A Palestinian Christian, yes, but still a Palestinian, and therefore what Edward Joseph “Ed” Wuncler III would call “of terrorist descent.”
In his diary, he wrote negative things about Israel. Strangely, this Palestinian Arab, born in Jerusalem, wrote these negative things in transliterated Arabic. That is to say that he wrote, using pen on paper, Arabic words not in his native alphabet, but in the Latin alphabet.
In Sirhan’s pocket at the time, he had a newspaper clipping of an article from the Independent Star News discussing how Kennedy had affirmed his support for the sale of the jets while visiting a synagogue in Oregon. The problem here is that supporting Israel with your words is very easy, and in fact just about every American politician does it as a matter of course. Robert’s words in support of Israel amounted to the bare minimum. But did Kennedy support Israel in deed? As Attorney General, Robert Kennedy had supported Senator J. William Fulbright’s (D-AR) campaign to compel the American Zionist Council to register as a foreign agent, which forbade them from making monetary contributions to US officials.5
The third problem is that Sirhan Sirhan denies the killing, and always did.
“I was told by my attorney that I shot and killed Senator Robert F. Kennedy and that to deny this would be completely futile, [but] I had and continue to have no memory of the shooting of Senator Kennedy.”
Despite pleading guilty, he was sentenced to death anyway, but California abolished the death penalty and so he is in prison for life.
At his 2011 parole hearing he said:
“I not only have never been able to remember what happened in that place at that time, but I have not been able to remember many things and incidents which took place in the weeks leading up to the shooting.”
[What do you remember about the shooting? If you’re willing to talk about it.]
“Obviously I was there, but I don’t remember the exact moment, I don’t remember pulling my gun out of my body or wherever it was located. I don’t remember aiming at any human being. I don’t remember any of that.”
But why would he do that? Say what you want about Palestinian militants, they tend to be pretty open and honest once the deed is done. Arabs tend to be less “why are you arresting me” and more “here’s why I’m attacking you.” Arab terrorists are less likely to deny responsibility for attacks they’ve committed then they are to, well, pull a piece of paper out of their pockets and read out a list of grievances like it’s Festivus for the Rest of Us.
Now, you might say Sirhan is lying so he can get parole. If he is, he is incredibly stupid, since it is a well known fact to anybody who has interacted with the justice system, particularly to lawyers, that refusing to admit your guilt almost guarantees that you will not get parole. And Sirhan Sirhan has come up for parole seventeen times, most recently in March of this year.
Interestingly at Sirhan’s 2016 hearing, one of his victims, a man named Paul Schrade, testified that Sirhan was innocent. Not that he forgave him. Not that he had suffered enough. That he was innocent.
Let me repeat that.
A man whose body was actually hit by one of the bullets from Sirhan Sirhan’s gun testified at Sirhan Sirhan’s parole hearing that Sirhan Sirhan could not have killed Bobby Kennedy!
When his parole was nonetheless denied, the board told him that it was because he had not expressed remorse for his crime or acknowledged its severity.
In 2021, at his 16th parole hearing, a 77 year old Sirhan Sirhan was granted parole by the board.
Bobby Kennedy’s daughter Rory, who was born six months after her father’s death, wrote an article in the New York Times calling for Sirhan not to be paroled. Why?
According to Julie Watson, an Associated Press reporter present, Mr. Sirhan still maintains that he does not recall the killing and that “it pains me to experience that, the knowledge for such a horrible deed, if I did in fact do that.” If? How can you express remorse while refusing to accept responsibility? And how, having committed one of the most notorious assassinations of the latter part of the 20th century, can you be considered rehabilitated when you won’t even acknowledge your role in the crime itself?
The commissioner kept pressing: “I’m asking you to tell me what you believe you’re responsible for.”
Mr. Sirhan replied: “It’s a good question. Legally speaking, I’m not guilty of anything.”
Again, this was in 2016. He was 71 years old and had been incarcerated for 48 years. That he was, of course, denied parole, is easy to understand. And so my question is: What in the intervening five years has changed? We know that one or two laws have changed (as we’ve seen, they frequently do), maybe some attitudes have changed, and Mr. Sirhan is a few years older. For a dash of color, news reports consistently mention his snow white hair, as if somehow that indicates he’s no longer a threat.
But as last Friday’s parole hearing made clear, his suitability for release has not changed.
Gavin Newsom agreed, and reversed the parole board’s decision.
Yet, after decades in prison, Sirhan still lacks the insight that would prevent him from making the kind of dangerous and destructive decisions he made in the past. The most glaring proof of Sirhan’s deficient insight is his shifting narrative about his assassination of Kennedy, and his current refusal to accept responsibility for it.
The evidence that Sirhan assassinated Kennedy is overwhelming and irrefutable. Before the assassination, Sirhan recorded his plans to kill Kennedy, writing, “RFK must die. RFK must be killed. Robert F. Kennedy must be assassinated.” At the time of the assassination, Sirhan accepted sole responsibility. In a televised interview, Sirhan confirmed that he assassinated Kennedy and acted alone.
Incredibly, in the 1990s, Sirhan began dodging responsibility. He claimed he could not remember the crime, then stated he was innocent. In 2016, Sirhan said he believed he did not kill Kennedy based on what he had read in his attorney’s legal briefs. As recently as last year, Sirhan portrayed himself as the victim, claiming he “was in the wrong spot at the wrong time.”
If Sirhan Sirhan was cynically lying to get himself out of prison, then it seems more reasonable to believe that he should simply tell the parole board what they want to hear, which is that he is guilty. And if he really is a terrorist, then all the more he should want to return to Jordan and continue to boast of how he stuck it to one of Israel’s puppets. Then again, the last time he confessed under advice of counsel, he was sentenced to death anyway.
But instead, Sirhan Sirhan insists on his innocence. Which means that he will die in prison.
Let’s go back to Sirhan’s diary, specifically the entry that Newsom mentioned. In full, it reads:

No more jokes. Sirhan Sirhan was framed. He is an innocent man.
At best, he was or is mentally ill. More likely, he was the victim of torture for the purposes of mind control. I am not the only one who thinks this.
According to a report by Daniel P. Brown, a Harvard professor specializing in trauma memory loss,
The evidence revealed by my extensive interviews substantiates the less refined allegations that he engaged in this activity in response to a cue given by another party, and thus compels the conclusion that his action of firing the gun was neither under his voluntary control or done with conscious knowledge but is likely the product of automatic hypnotic behavior and coercive control. I am convinced that Mr. Sirhan legitimately recalled a “flashback” to shoot target circles at a firing range in response to the post-hypnotic touch cue and did not have the knowledge, or intention, to shoot a human being, let alone Senator Kennedy. Even after 40 years, Mr. Sirhan still is confused when told by others that he shot Senator Kennedy.
Recall Sirhan’s parole testimony:
“I don’t remember aiming at any human being. I don’t remember any of that.”
I wonder if that Sirhan actually, in a sense, does remember the moment he shot Kennedy, but he does not remember it as shooting Kennedy. Presumably he has the good sense not to tell the parole board something like “In that moment, I thought I was at a shooting range. Sorry about that.”
During his sessions with Dr. Brown, Sirhan could remember having been accompanied by an attractive woman before suddenly finding himself in a shooting range with a weapon he didn’t know. Sirhan’s recollections of the appearance of his coach, particularly a distinctive mustache, strongly implicate one William Joseph Bryan. Bryan started as military psychiatrist, transferred to the CIA to work on Artichoke and then MK-Ultra before founding the American Institute of Hypnosis. Bryan’s primary claim to fame was assisting in the conviction of the Boston Strangler, Albert DeSalvo, by putting him under hypnosis in order to make him confess. You will notice that that is both completely insane and a matter of public record.
As well, in Sirhan’s diary, we find an entry which reads: “God help me […] Please help. Salvo Di Di Salvo Die S Salvo.”
If Sirhan Sirhan was the target of a clandestine mind control program, he would not be the first Palestinian victim. Citing Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman, author of Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations, Haaretz reports that in 1968, the same year that Bobby Kennedy died:
a naval psychologist named Binyamin Shalit (if the name sounds familiar, it’s because that same year he was the plaintiff in a seminal “Who is a Jew?” Supreme Court case) concocted a plan to take a Palestinian prisoner and “brainwash and hypnotize him into becoming a programmed killer.” He would then be sent into Jordan as a sleeper agent and, when the opportunity arose, would assassinate – that’s right, Yasser Arafat.
Shalit was given his prisoner, named Fatkhi, and worked on him over a period of three months. One of Bergman’s informants recalled how the night Fatkhi crossed the river into Jordan, he said goodbye to his trainers and “made a pistol out of his fingers and pretended to shoot an imaginary target between the eyes. I noticed Shalit was pleased with his patient.” A few hours later, Military Intelligence received a report that a young Palestinian had turned himself and his gun in to the Jordanian police, to whom he immediately poured out the story of how Israel had tried to brainwash him.
Some might be tempted to seize on the fact that this plan didn’t work, and that Yasser Arafat lived to the ripe old age of 75 before dying of perfectly natural causes.6 The thing is that mind control programs are a lot like birthday presents.
It’s the thought that counts.
Joshua Caleb Sutter
This article was originally going to be called “Sidney Gottlieb and the Nazi Pedophile Satanist Terrorists.”
There’s a movie called American History X, starring Edward Norton7 as a skinhead Nazi who goes to prison and makes a black friend, teaching him that racism is wrong because nothing he has done has made his life better. One of the movies many memorable lines is:
“Weed is for niggers, put that away right now. Have a little self respect.”
And among white supremacists, I understand this to be a common position.
However, a major conflict in the movie comes when Derek has a falling out with the Aryan Brotherhood in prison, because they sell drugs in prison to the nonwhite inmates. Derek fails to appreciate the difference between the racism he learned from his middle class father and the racism they learned from being locked in a cage with criminals of other races, so the Aryan Brotherhood silences his annoying preaching by raping him in the showers.
Of course, the real Third Position is that drugs are totally based and that white people should be doing more of them.
“Read Siege.”
You may remember seeing that. It was part of the Fashwave meme family.8 While the term is out of style, its “spirit” lives on as TND, while the skull masks and laser eyes which accompanied it are still in use. Siege is a book of essays about why white supremacists should focus less on talking to people and more on terroristic murder. Plenty of groups affiliated themselves with Siege Culture. Groups like the Atomwaffen Division, The Base, Combat 18, the Nordic Resistance Movement, the Order of the Nine Angles, and the Russian Imperial Movement.9
Almost all of these groups turned out to be intelligence agency honeypots.
Combat 18, for example, was founded in the early 90s for the stated purpose of protecting the British National Party from Antifa violence, but eventually turned their words and fists on the BNP for engaging in parliamentarianism instead of nihilistic terror. Turned out that the groups founder, Charlie Sargeant, was an asset for MI5 after having been earlier arrested for two drug offenses and an illegal gun. This was only discovered after Sargeant murdered one the groups members for trying to take over. Whoops!
Or The Base10, an organization whose crimes range from spraypainting synagogues to attempted murder of Antifa activists. In a shocking development, the criminal complaint in the latter case indicates that the plotting, recruiting, and provisioning for the plot within the group was done almost entirely by an FBI informant. Even more shockingly, the founder of The Base turned out to be a man named Rinaldo Nazarro. In a previous life, before his abrupt turn to White Supremacist Terrorism in his early forties, Nazzaro had “a long history of advertising his services as an intelligence, military, and security contractor. He has claimed, under his alias, to have served in Russia and Afghanistan. Nazarro started his racist career working for a group in the Northwest Front, which aimed to create a fascist white ethnostate in the famously right wing separatist bastions of Oregon and Washington. NWF’s founder, Harold Covington, was also a co-founder of Combat 18.11 While working the NWF under the alias “Norman Spear,” Nazarro identified himself as a “Defense Studies expert and former CIA field intelligence officer.” While he may have been puffing up his credentials a bit, it was indeed the case that Nazarro had operated an intelligence and security contracting firm called Omega Solutions International between 2009 and 2019. Weird!
But neither of these groups hold a sacrificial candle to this next story. Buckle up, get some water, and subscribe to this substack, because things are about to get wild.
The O9A ran a group on Telegram called The Siege Network. One of its members, while an active duty soldier, is charged with providing information on his unit’s whereabouts to al-Qaeda. Naturally, the O9A member who talked him into this was a paid FBI informant. In another case, a then-14 year old autistic boy in Britain was sentenced to 7 years in prison for his “part” in a “plot” to blow up synagogues and infrastructure. Absurdly, the BBC article contains a courtroom sketch not of the boy, but of the guard standing next to him.
According to the FBI, Andrew Anglin of the Daily Stormer described the O9A as a Satanic Doomsday Cult. Anglin was understating his case.
The O9A is a Nazi Pedophile Satanic Doomsday Terrorist Cult.
But then, I suppose that Anglin wouldn’t have cared about the Nazi thing.
The American branch of the O9A is called the Tempel ov Blood. It is run by a man named Joshua Caleb Sutter. His wife, Jillian, controls the group’s publishing house, Martinet Press. The Quietus refers to the pair as “Something of a neo-fascist power-couple, Hoy and Sutter previously operated as North Korean propagandists and Hindu Ultra-Nationlists/Esoteric Hitlerists, before turning to the O9A.”
Sutter got his start as a member of the Sons of Yahweh. The Sons of Yahweh are a successor to the Aryan Nations, and part of the Christian Identity Movement. Christian Identity is essentially the belief that Paul the Apostle was wasting his time evangelizing to so-called gentiles, because all of the people of Europe, particularly Northern Europe and England, are actually the real Jews. Thas Rite. This is the least insane view that Sutter would ever espouse.
After two members of the church were arrested for conspiring to rob banks in 2003, Joshua decided that he was bored of being a real descendant of Abraham, and decided to try his hand at carrying the torch of the Juche idea and bring the world to an understanding of the works of Eternal Pesident Kim Il-Sung and his son, Eternal Chairman Kim Jong-Il. He and his wife joined a Songun Study Group. Effectively the closest thing the DPRK has to foreign outreach. Unfortunately, the Rural People’s Party was interested in reading communist literature, and Sutter was interested in persuading its members to make anthrax. Naturally, the beginning of the end came when Jillian began sleeping with the group’s president, John Paul Cupp. Luckily for these star-crossed lovers, Cupp came down with appendicitis and the Hoy’s infidelity ended. Also they got kicked out again. Womp Womp.
So then they founded Tempel ov Blood. Writing under his own name and published by his wife, Sutter would publish books espousing psychological torture, satanic ritual violence, mass murder, and infant rape. According to an FBI document, O9A made for a useful deradicalization tool for white supremacists by simple fact that “exposure to O9A’s doctrines may increase internal conflict and loss of members among already fractious [Racially Motivated Violent Extremist] groups. Many RMVEs believe that groups espousing Satanist beliefs are ideologically impure and that their pro-Satanism members seek to destabilize the group.” I can’t comment on what it means to be “ideologically impure” as a white supremacist, but as it turns out, the suspicion of satanic subversion in the white supremacist movement turned out to be right on the money.
You see, in 2003, Joshua Caleb Sutter was arrested for buying a gun with the serial numbers filed off. Turns out, this weirdo has been working for the Feds for the past twenty years. All of those books he was publishing? The FBI was paying for all of it. They paid him $80,000 to take over Atomwaffen. A more “normal” (read: left-atheist) satanist notes a hilariously revealing passage from one of Sutter’s books.
Second, the infiltration and manipulation of organizations and forms with Sinister potential. Aryanism, particularly the more religiously fanatical forms of it, such as Christian Identity are a good example. The manipulating Noctulian is to use these forms for their own Presencing of the Dark, as well as changing in subtle ways the followers of such forms to following a more Sinister direction. For example, in Identity, using knowledge of the Biblical doctrines and prophecies encourage war, hardship, and system disruption using the scriptures as guidance and proof of the message you are sending to adherents of the said form. Any form with a transhuman, system disruption, or satanic direction to it may be of use here. The key is finding a form that in itself is an aid to the Dialect and empowering it further, causing a saturation of Acasual Energy.
It goes to show how much white supremacists don’t read, or if they do read, how much they don’t comprehend. Here is a book by their groups own leader, boasting about how he infiltrates and manipulates right wing groups into bringing out their “sinister” sides by making them commit felonies!
And oh boy, what crimes they commit!
In one case, a member named Danyal Hussein carried out instructions to form a demonic pact before killing two sisters in a park in London. In another case, a man named Guilherme von Neutegem uploaded a three minute satanic chant to youtube before stabbing a man to death in front of a mosque, and attempting to decapitate him. Yes, you will notice that this group has both Muslims and Islamophobic killers. Don’t ask me, I don’t know. One of Sutter’s recruits was a 13 year old boy.
You may be feeling a bit sick. A bit queasy, but you may also be wondering: what the hell does this have to do with MK-Ultra?
Well, Sutter wrote some other things. For example, Sutter wrote in detail about how to use a combination of satanic ritual abuse and psychedelic drugs in order to brainwash people into commiting crimes. Crimes which he, as an informant, was rewarded for “preventing” before they could be committed:
“brainwashing…at least how it works for the cult followers. Genuine Sinister Adherents work with us differently, as you are an example I need not to explain. But it is usually subtle. They slowly become a cell in the organism known as the Tempel ov Blood. Some are immediately pulled in, usually by the charisma of a Czar or myself. As you know, people are selfish, so they will not give essence without something in return. We DO give them a return flow of Blood, the Blood of Choronozon. Or in special cases, if we like an individual, they are given a taste of our own Blood-Essence. A case of this is shown in the MSS Azanigin (an internal ToB publication distributed only to limited, approved members of their Satanic temple). The Czar fed the young boy his blood before he went to the nuthouse. The Czar, The Blood Mistress, and myself are described in some detail in part one. Czar is the smoker, I obviously am the Master of the Tempel, and the woman petting the cat is the Blood- Mistress. We always put them through experiences that “imprint” the ToB into their minds. We may offer them the fleshy pleasure of a demonic woman, we may put them through harsh ordeals, we alter their state of consciousness etc. Each act that puts them in an ecstatic or altered state they associate with the ToB, thus the ToB is eventually their God. This Tempel is in many ways a social programming experiment. while we do create fanatics, we must make the “fake” adherents entries look as if it is obviously their will and good for them to serve the ToB. It has to be subtle. In the later stages it becomes more overt and at that point is too late for them to change. They become so alienated from humanity that, well, haha, if they tried to go back they will still cause so much disruption. Saturn descends…This is good for now, In blood, Bl KB ToB.”
In Blood, indeed.
But it raises the question: Was it Satan who taught this FBI informant how to use psychoactive drugs to make people commit crimes, or did he pick up some tips and tricks from someone at the Bureau?
How about another joke, Murray.
A boy named Richard Tobin was recruited into Sutter’s cult as a teenager. At Atomwaffen’s “Nuclear Congress” in Nevada, a white supremacist burning man, the FBI paid to fly out young members and pay for their lodging. Sutter introduced Tobin to a cocktail of psychedelic drugs over the weekend, and then Tobin was then “transferred” over to The Base on Sutter’s recommendation. Within a year, Tobin was arrested for plotting to vandalize synagogues. During the arrest, Tobin began shouting and rambling that he wanted to becoming a suicide bomber. That he wanted to kill black people. He pled guilty to all charges, but had to spend pretrial detention in psychiatric care.
“What’s Your Favorite Conspiracy Theory?”
MK-Ultra isn’t a joke. It isn’t useless trivia. The CIA spent a decade researching how to enhance their torture and interrogation program with psychoactive drugs, then they spent another twenty years after that researching how to use that information break people’s mind down in order to train them like dogs.
In the course of their research, they experimented on Germans and Japanese. They experimented on fascists and communists alike. They experimented on American cities. They experimented on themselves. They experimented on soldiers. Celebrities. College students. Their informants. Some of them practiced on their secretaries for sex. Others practiced on people who pissed them off at the coffee shop. At one point, Sidney Gottlieb tried to secure the existence of the program by dosing his superiors.
At the end of it all, they got awards and promotions. And Americans think it was all just an expensive waste of time. That Allen Dulles, the longest serving director of the CIA, was a moron who read to many comic books.
And maybe for most people, these programs don’t work. Maybe you need to be a little bit crazy to be mind controlled. Or maybe just a little bit lonely. A 19 year old girl who checks in to a mental health clinic for her anxiety, reduced to pissing herself and sucking her thumb and begging to be fed from a bottle. An immigrant with no family, who bounces from church to church trying to find meaning in his life, set up to kill a president. He’ll die in prison. Children as young as 13, depressed, autistic, getting into race politics, sucked into FBI plots and rambling about how they want to blow themselves up. He might die in prison, too. Broken people, having their lives destroyed. That’s what the fruits of the program did to them. And that’s the best they can do. If the program worked better, they’d do it to you, too.
This is the sixth in a series of six articles about a disturbing trend of psychedelic drug use being pushed on the American Right.
This series will be free for all to read, and I encourage you to share this post and all others in the series.

While I will not spend time on Gottlieb’s early life, Kinzer notes that despite their very different backgrounds, Alan Dulles and Sidney Gottlieb shared a major childhood experience, in that both of them were born with clubfoot. A trait they also share with Dr. Joseph Goebbels. I guess it’s kind of like how Genghis Khan, Jesus, and the Prophet Muhammad were all said to have red hair.
Allen Dulles would be fired by JFK in 1961 over the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion. This had nothing to do with Kennedy’s assassination. I’m not being sarcastic, it really is completely unrelated. The Dulles-CIA theory is a total red herring that doesn’t actually make much sense if you think about it for more than a few minutes.
One name that comes up in Operation Midnight Climax is Walter Pasternak, one of four MK-Ultra employees subpoenaed to testify before congress along with Sidney Gottlieb, Robert Lashbrook, and Charles Geschickter.
One wonders if Walter Pasternak has any relation to Harley Pasternak, the celebrity personal trainer who helped Ellen page discover that they were actually Eliot page. More notably, back when Ye was going Death Con 3 on Jewish People, Harley texted him the following:
“I’m going to help you one of a couple ways… First, you and I sit down and have a loving and open conversation, but you don’t use cuss words, and everything that is discussed is based in fact, and not some crazy stuff that dumb friend of yours told you, or you saw in a tweet.
“Second option, I have you institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever. Play date with the kids just won’t be the same.”
Disturbingly, Long’s remarks after the shooting seemed to imply that Weiss had never actually shot him at all, but had rather assaulted him with his fists, and that his bodyguards responded to this violation of the NAP with deadly force. Discrepancies in the location of Weiss’s car, keys, and gun have been cited to suggest that his bodyguards planted the gun on him after the fact to justify what some might call an extreme overreaction.
The American Zionist Council would render the issue moot by reorganizing itself into the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs, now called the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

Covington got his start as a member of the “National Socialist White People’s Party,” a successor to George Lincoln Rockwell’s American Nazi Party. He has the dubious distinction of being the only person I know of to have been deported from Rhodesia for being too racist after traveling there to fight in the Rhodesian Bush War.
It feels weird to do this but ... you should read chapter 5 (titled "Shamans and Spies") of my book, which makes the case that the "father of ethnobotany", Harvard prof Richard Evans Schultes, likely began his career under the auspices of MK-Ultra:
